Weekly Activities

There is something happening every day of the week at the Community Centre. Activities which are organised by the residents for the residents include;

Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays at 1pm - Bingo

Monday at 6.30pm - Exercise Class

Tuesday at 9.30am - Craft

3.00pm - Dancing

Wednesday at 9.00am - Exercise Class

7.00pm - Line Dancing

Thursday at 9.00am - Art Group

4.00pm - Indoor Carpet Bowls

Friday at 9.00am - Village Library

1.00pm - Hoy (card game)

Sunday at 6.30pm - Euchre (in Bowling Club)

Bayway Bowling Clubs

Come join in the fun and activities at our Bowling Club. We cater for all levels, whether you are a novice and would like to learn or a champion.

There is something happening every day of the week. The Social Club have regular roll ups for men, ladies and mixed bowls. For the more competitive, the Men's and Women's Pennant Clubs which are affiliated with the NDBA compete in the local circuit as well as having fun events at the Village.

Facilities Onsite

The Village has great facilites onsite for the use of all residants. There is a modern community hall which is used for Village meetings and social occassions, a Bowling Club, tennis court, swimming pool and childrens playground. There are many activies organised by various resident groups that everyone is welcome to join in. The Resident Association plays an important role in Village life.

Lawn Bowls

For the times of all activities and bowling events please refer to the Notice Boards and Timetable at the Bayway Village Bowling Club. There is something on everyday with regular social events and bbqs.

Swimming Pool

The Village Swimming Pool is open from 9am to 8pm daily during the swimming season for residents to enjoy.

Water Aerobics are held on Tuesday and Saturday mornings for those who enjoy the benefits

Tennis Court

The synthetic tennis court is available for residents who choose to particpate in something a little more energetic.

Bookings are not necessary. The court is available during daylight hours and proper sand shoes must be worn.

BBQ Area

Gas BBQs are provided in the recreation area next to the swimming pool.

Residents are welcome to use these facilities.

Community Centre

The Community Centre is a great Village facility that is used daily for the many organised activities and social events which include monthly dinners, market days, supper dances, Melbourne Cup Day and many more.

Croquet Field

The croquet field is still under construction with work being carried out to improve the area.

This will be a new social activity which is being organised and should commence early 2010.

Transport

Newcastle is serviced by a public transport system which includes buses, trains - both Citylink and Countrylink, ferries, taxis and Williamtown Airport.

The Village is serviced directly by two bus lines with bus stops at the Village Entrance.

Medical Services

The Newcastle district is serviced by various public and private hospitals and world class medical facilities. The closest is the newly opened Mater Hospital and Emergency Department, John Hunter Hospital, Lingard Private Hospital, Newcastle Private Hospital and Lake Macquarie Private Hospital.

There are also a wide range of specialists, doctors and medical centres in the area.

Interest Groups

Newcastle offers a wide range of activities, interest groups, clubs and service clubs such as Probus and Rotary.

Medical Emergency

As with all medical emergency dial "000" and make sure you quote your site number and street name to ensure the ambulance arrive in the shortest possible time.

The on-site managers can be contacted for immediate assistance to help until the emergency services arrive.
